Get your Confirmation ID

Activating Windows or Office by phone? Enter the activation code from your Keys Locker order and the Installation ID shown on your screen. You'll get the Confirmation ID to type back in, no phone call needed.

Lost your activation code?

Enter your order number and the email address you used at checkout.

How phone activation works

Windows

  1. Open Settings → System → Activation, choose Change product key and enter the key from your order.
  2. Activation will fail with an error such as 0xC004C008. That is expected for a phone-activation key. Windows then shows Activate by phone or Activate via the Product Activation Portal — click it.
  3. Pick your country. Your Installation ID appears in groups of digits.
  4. Paste it above with your activation code to get your Confirmation ID.
  5. Click Enter Confirmation ID, type blocks A–H, then Activate.

No phone option shown? Press Win + R, type slui 4 and press Enter. From an administrator Command Prompt instead: slmgr /dti shows the Installation ID and slmgr /atp CONFIRMATIONID applies it.

Office

  1. Open Word or Excel. In the activation wizard choose activate the software by telephone.
  2. Copy the Installation ID shown in step 2.
  3. Paste it above with your activation code.
  4. Type the Confirmation ID blocks into step 3 and click Next.

Each activation code works for the key it came with. If the Installation ID isn't from that key, the code is not used up and you can try again.
