How to Get Started with Dynamics 365 Business Central

    What is Dynamics 365 Business Central?

    Dynamics 365 Business Central is Microsoft’s all-in-one ERP solution for small and medium businesses. It covers financials, inventory, sales, purchasing, projects, and more — all in the cloud.

    Step 1 — Access Business Central

    After your subscription is provisioned, go to businesscentral.dynamics.com and sign in with your Microsoft 365 account. Your environment will be ready to configure.

    Step 2 — Run the Assisted Setup

    From the Home page, click Assisted Setup. This wizard walks you through setting up your company information, chart of accounts, payment terms, and opening balances. It’s the fastest way to get your environment configured correctly from day one.

    Step 3 — Import Your Data

    Go to Assisted Setup → Migrate Business Data to import customers, vendors, items, and opening balances from Excel or your previous accounting software. Templates are provided for each data type.

    Step 4 — Set Up Users and Permissions

    Go to Settings → Users to add team members and assign permission sets (e.g., Accounting Manager, Sales Order Processor). Business Central has granular role-based access control so each user only sees what they need.
